Mark Sandoz, of the Gilt Edge Bowling Club (right) receiving the  Allan Powell Trophy from Tony Wilson, Cleobury Mortimer Bowling Club. This annual competition, always played on Mayday,  was played in awful weather conditions with persistent rain and hail throughout most of the match. But all players carried on with a smile and all games were finished. Gilt Edge won the Trophy back this year but the score was very close, a lot closer than in previous years. the final score was Gilt Edge 122 - Cleobury Mortimer 103 Well done both teams.

Alf Coward & Lauren Burnside played in the first round of the Wakeman Cup. This was a very commendable performance by Lauren as this was only her 2nd. competitive competition. Alf finally won 21 - 19 Well done Lauren.

The Ison Cup: Scratch Doubles. Final played for on Saturday June 27th. 2010 After an extremely hard fought final; in searing heat, Chris Cowdell and Betty Rose, (left) beat Pete Arrowsmith and Gordon Griffiths. After being 12-17 down Betty & Chris dug deep and won 21-18 Well played to both pairs. 10 pairs entered the competition.

The highest scores in each section play the semi- final over 9 ends as a straight K.O. The final is then played over 11 ends. Pam & Ron Played exceptionally well all day, and won the final 13-4 Well done both players.

JOHN CADWALLADER; CLUB CAPTAIN AND MARGRET HIS WIFE. John and Margret worked tirelessly to get everything ready for the Captains Day. They provided a most superb Buffet Lunch. All of the members who played would like to thank them for a very fine day. Despite the poor weather, everyone enjoyed themselves. Thank you very much.

Winning the final 21-8. A special mention should be made about Lesley: this is her first season of bowls. She was the lead in all rounds and played with superb skill throughout the whole match.

The Presentation Day was also the day that Highley Welfare Bowls Club and Cleobury Mortimer Bowls Club presented a combined cheque to Meurice Evans of the County Air ambulance. (L-R) Lol Russon President of Highley Bowls, Dave Jones, President of Cleobury Mortimer Bowls Meurice Evans of the Air Ambulance and Don Scotford, Chairman of Cleobury Mortimer Bowls Meurice Evans emphasised the importance of money raised by the public to keep this vitally important service going and thanked all of the bowlers who had helped to raise this money.
